I Bid for a Mac Book Pro

It must have been love.

I was drooling over when I chanced upon seeing the above image of the 24K gold plated Mac Book Pro by Apple while browsing the internet a few days ago. Needless to say, I literally fell in love with the design.

I have been blogging for almost two years now, but it is only in March of this year when I decided to try and get more serious with making money on line. However, my problem is that I am only using a desktop computer at home, so I can only go and browse business opportunities when I get home from the office. This proves to be a very big limitation because oftentimes, other people get ahead of me in getting the bigger and better opportunities.

On one particular instance, I was not able to commission a big project because my family went on an out-of-town trip, and I only got the chance to check on my emails when I we went back three days after. By that time, the offer has already expired and was given to another bidder.

To address my problem, I have decided to go and look for a computer laptop; and that is when I saw the Mac Book Pro. A friend who is knowledgeable in computer gadgets informed me that I can actually bid online if I want to purchase one.

He shared that everytime he wants to purchase new gadgets, his first option is to search online and look for a unique auction site that allows people to bid for brand new products at considerably low prices. What is good about this auction site is that it offers the newest products, which may or may not yet be available when you personally go on shopping centers. My friend even shared that he was able to purchase his new PS3 online thru bidding at an unbelievably low price.

Now I have never tried bidding for products, and so this will be my first time to try. My friend is willing to orient me, so I am geared to bid (and win!) for a Mac Book Pro tonight.

In Search for a new Mobile Phone

My Motorola mobile phone has totally been damaged last Friday. I went to the service center last Sunday and the crew told me that they wouldn't be able to repair the damage. It is with much regret that I wouldn't be able to get the pictures, including the phonebook memory.

Anyway, I still can get the memory card and the sim, so I really got to check out for a new mobile phone for my globe number.

There is this new mobile phone, modu, which is holding Guiness' record for the world's lightest phone at 1.5 ounce.


The phone will soon be released in the Philippines and is to be exclusively distributed by Globe Telecom.

Is Your Computer Secured?

People like me who consume at least six hours a day using the computer and browsing the internet always desire for maximum computer protection from virus.

I am always reminded of an incident that occured about 4 months ago, when I had a very important transaction to accomplish in the internet, my computer suddenly malfunctioned and I am notified by our systems operator that a trojan virus has invaded my desktop computer.

The systems operator did a quick diagnose and advised me that he will need to pull out my computer for virus removal and further check up in order to ensure that computer protection will be put in place so that such occurence will be minimized, if not stopped.

I was endorsed with a temporary workstation computer so I was able to complete my transaction at 10 minutes before the 6 pm deadline from the client. It's a good thing that my client, to whom I have already built a worthwhile business acument, is merciful enough to wait for the deadline period.

Lesson learned: always ensure that your computer has been installed a virus protection or anti virus software. Computer protection now becomes easier to manage because there are suppliers like ZSecurity which caters online service for your internet security protection.

In times when the use of internet technology matters much on our business transactions, it pays to be secured.

Going Techie [Te-ki]

"Techie [Te-chi] na ako ngayon brod."

"Huh?"

"Techie na ako. I now have two cellular phones in my pocket."

"Tangek! Techie [Te-ki] ang pronounciation dun. Kung Te-chie, ano yun? Tetchie Agbayani?"

Aside from my old reliable Motorola phone, I have a recent Sony Ericsson phone bulging in my pocket. Now I wasn't actually planning to be a Techie [Te-ki] person, however, I had to purchase another unit out of necessity.

Other than those two possessions, I really couldn't think of anymore gadget that I own to make people call me a Techie [Te-ki].

Ok, I have an ipod on my office drawer, but we always joke about it because they say it is actually an ay-pot, an immitation of the original thing. I had to buy that ipod (which I actually don't use now), out of "pakikisama" to that friend/officemate who sells that stuff.

Wikipedia defines Techie as a term, derivative of the word technology, for a person who displays a great, sometimes even obsessive, interest in technology, high-tech devices, and particularly computers.

To most Pinoys, being techie is being up-to-date with innovative gadgets, like cellphones, music players, play stations, computers, and the like.

There is actually nothing wrong with being "techie". In this modern world, one must really catch up with the fast changes that are happening. However, people should also be aware that buying and owning these advanced technologies should be coupled with responsibilities.

Especially in this time of our economy where there are lots of uncertainties, it is important that we buy things only when we have the capacity to buy.

To add, we must consider that we buy a thing because it is necessary. Nowadays, cellular phones become necessities, even to students. But I personally say that high-end phones may not be suitable yet for students. I should know- I have two student relatives who lost their high end phones because they are not yet responsible enough to look for their personal belongings.

Parents should guide their children. Considering that the young are the more enthusiastic when it comes to gadgets, I believe parents should allow their children to use these things in moderation. The more they use their PSPs, their computers and their music players, the less they devote their time for study and for inter-personal relationship with other people.
